On 26th April, Nepali cinema will deliver what appears to be a horror thriller film, Bokshi Ko Ghar, translated as Witch’s House, directed by Sulakshyan Bharati under the banner Keki Adhikari Films. Keki Adhikari will play the lead role while the film will depict a horror story about a village where a witch, ghost, or devil disrupts the lives of the villagers, particularly the couples played by Keki Adhikari and Shupala Sapkota, through a haunted or cursed tree.
The teaser has been released on OSR Digital’s official YouTube channel, and it appears thrilling and intriguing as it covers societal or religious aspects connecting the ghosts and devils who trouble the villagers’ lives and even attempt to take the characters’ lives. The film could provide a fresh take to Nepali moviegoers in the big picture with an authentic horror story based on a true story, as promised by the filmmakers.
In the teaser, Keki Adhikari plays a woman who appears to be in a relationship with a villager played by Shupala Sapkoto, and the devil or ghost witch appears to possess Keki Adhikari’s character, prompting rituals and societal beliefs to emerge, as Nepali people refer to possessed girls as Bokshi (Witch). In addition to Keki and Shupala, the film will feature Swechchha Raut, Sulakshyan Bharati, Rama Thapaliya, Sushma Niraula, Jiwan Baral, and Sabin Bastola.
