Basanta’s official trailer is now out, with Prakash Saput and Swastima Khadka in the major characters. The film attempts to highlight the caste inequality that exists in Nepal’s rural communities.
In high school, Prakash and Swastima fall in love. Prakash enjoys poetry and the arts, and Swastima is drawn to him because of his artistic aura. Both had a strong perfume of love and devotion, but their caste distinctions hampered their relationship’s advancement. Swastima belongs to an upper caste, but Prakash comes from a lower caste family; as a consequence, Prakash intends to withdraw from their love affairs since he is terrified of society and people.
Prakash Saput, a well-known musician, also writes and directs the motion picture Basanta. He has dedicated his heart and soul to presenting a social drama film to Nepalese people. Susan Prajapati, the film’s director of photography, gave it a good cinematic touch. Prakash Saput, Swastima Khadka, Khadga Bahadur Pun (Khabapu), Prabhat Pal Thakuri, Shree Shivansee, Urmila Lamgade, Anup Baral, Prakash Ghimire, Kamalmani Nepal, Maotse Gurung, Siru Bista, Bhola Sapkota, Bishal Pahari, and Anu Thapa provide dramatic performances in the production. Basanta will be released in cinemas near you on April 4, 2025.
